2011 State Chamber of the Year
Greater Riverside Hispanic Chamber of Commerce brings home coveted award, recognized as #1 Hispanic Chamber in the state of California
The State Chamber of the Year is awarded by the California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce in recognition of the local Hispanic chambers’ accomplishments, leadership, partnerships and service to the Hispanic business and community it serves.
“I am so proud of this award because it represents 32 years of hard work and dedication from our board of directors, executive director, past board, volunteers and members, said Dina Esquivel, sixth Chairwoman of Greater Riverside Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and small business owner/director at People Helping People, LLC. “With all this comes a lot of responsibility to continue our mission to help businesses achieve their goals, and we are up for the challenge.”
This award is an affirmation and testament to our Chamber’s unwavering commitment to our business membership and community.
“Our Chamber is also honored to have been selected as one of ten Hispanic chambers statewide to receive a $5,000 grant through the Wells Fargo/CHCCF Chamber Stimulus Program,” said Lorraine Hernandez Saint, first Latina Executive Director of Riverside’s Hispanic Chamber, and author of the grant proposal. “The grant will fund our student internship program.”
Wells Fargo and the foundation understand the significant role that this funding plays in strengthen our local economy. Wells Fargo’s funds donated to the foundation are going straight back into the economy through a stipend to students for their internship at our local chamber.”
